Card Condition & Grading Guide

We grade every single card in our inventory individually using a strict, conservative assessment criteria tailored to the UK and European TCG markets. This guide outlines our exact grading standards to ensure complete transparency—allowing you to shop with absolute confidence, knowing exactly what will arrive at your door.
Cards in this category show minimal to no signs of wear from handling or storage. They look as though they have been pulled straight from a fresh booster pack and immediately sleeved.
Front Surface
Flawless gloss with no scratching, clouding, or printing lines.
Back Surface
Clean, vibrant color with no scuffing or print defects.
Edges
Crisp and clean. Modern cards will be immaculate; select vintage cards may have a single, microscopic speck of white on a rear edge to still qualify.
Corners
Perfectly sharp and uniform.
Lightly Played cards show minor, superficial wear from gentle handling or sleeve-less storage. The card remains in beautiful overall aesthetic condition, and the wear is typically unnoticeable at first glance.
Front Surface
May feature a few very faint, hairline scratches only visible under direct, angled light. No deep gouges or indents.
Back Surface
Slight surface dullness or minor scuffing.
Edges
Minor 'whitening' or silvering along one or two edges, typical of natural shelf wear.
Corners
Minor softening or tiny white spots on a maximum of two corners.
Moderately Played cards exhibit obvious, visible signs of wear across multiple areas. While the card is still fully intact and presents well inside a deck sleeve, its handling history is clear.
Front Surface
Visible light scratching across the artwork, minor clouding, or small print lines. May feature minor localized binder-ring indentation.
Back Surface
Moderate scuffing and noticeable loss of original surface gloss.
Edges
Consistent whitening or silvering along multiple borders.
Corners
Visibly softened or frayed corners with white layers showing.
Heavily Played cards show severe, extensive wear from long-term handling, unsleeved competitive play, or poor storage conditions. The card is heavily degraded but remains completely legal for sleeved tournament play.
Front Surface
Severe, widespread scratching, deep scuffs, clouding, or major localized dirt/grime.
Back Surface
Major whitening across the surface and substantial loss of border coloration.
Edges
Heavy, continuous fraying and deep chipping along almost all borders.
Corners
Fully rounded, soft, or splitting corners.
Damaged cards exhibit wear that compromises the structural or physical integrity of the card itself. These cards are typically not legal for official tournament play, even when sleeved.
Structural Defects
Heavy creases, bends, or folds that break the cardboard fibers.
Surface Defects
Severe peeling of the holofoil layer, ink marks, writing, stamps, or water damage/warping.
Edges & Corners
Tears, rips, punctures, or severe missing chunks of the card profile.
